Verbier - Topping Mont Fort

  • The Resort

    The Resort

Verbier is considered winter's haven for sport lovers. Offering the most sun out of any other station in the region, Verbier combines cosmopolitanism with authenticity. Many merely go to the Mont Fort, Verbier’s highest point at 3,400 meters, in order to enjoy the striking panoramic view that stretches from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc.

The ski area is among the largest in Europe and has a multitude of activities to satisfy all sorts of tourists and winter sport enthusiasts. 410km of varying pistes cross through different landscapes to connect the five different resorts that make up ‘Les 4 Vallées’; all of which are easily accessible from Verbier’s village.

Verbier is just as renowned for the experiences it offers after a day on snow, or as they call it in Switzerland during the ‘après-ski’. There are restaurants, bars and pulsing nightclubs accommodating all tastes. Indeed, if you are looking for a party or simply looking for a fabulous meal with your family, you will be more than satisfied with what Verbier has to offer. Verbier’s luxury hotels and chalets are full of surprises as they expertly combine coziness, tradition and daring architecture.

  • The skiing

    The Skiing

Each year Verbier hosts a series of world class events; including the Xtreme Verbier, the Freeride World Tour finals, and backcountry skiing events.
As for its skiing, it certainly offers an array of exciting experiences.

    Basic Skiing
Beginners have a mere five minute drive from village centre to get to their training ground.
Esserts and les Moulins are the safest and most appropriate places to begin skiing and provide a great view.
Skiers can easily go back to their hotels or chalets during the day, to warm up or rest, given the proximity.

    Exploring at your own pace
Once you’ve gotten more comfortable, you will be ready to explore the area of La Chaux, accessible from the gondola station. This region combines a skier’s desire to discover new terrain and progress with gentle slopes. It is also accessible to pedestrians (in cabins or walking from Les Ruinettes) to discover the breathtaking views as a family, regardless of your skiing level.
You will also get to try the ski areas Medran and Savoleyers, which are famous for their local dishes for lunch.

    Steep or Deep
Expert skiers and amateurs alike get to enjoy a multitude of on and off-piste skiing. We recommend the ungroomed itinerary from Tortin, Col des Mines, the Vallon d'Arbi and the magnificent Mont Gelé, as well as the secret corners of Bruson. What is certain is that everyone can find his or her pleasure.
Of course, a detour up the Mont Fort (3,400 m) to enjoy a mulled wine or eat fondue is strongly advised. That said, you should be advised that this slope is reserved for experienced skiers.
